A creative, enthusiastic and thoughtful leader, Chris has more than 25 years of executive experience in the senior living and hospitality industries. He’s opened or renovated over 30 properties across four continents, many receiving international recognition for service, excellence and innovation. His engaging, supportive leadership style and gift for recognizing new trends in senior living ensure that the Edgemere experience lives up to even the highest of expectations.
Martha brings over 30 years of sales and marketing experience to Edgemere, making her an invaluable asset to our team. Her background in sales and real estate led her to the senior living industry, and she hasn’t looked back since. Throughout the years, she’s assumed various roles such as marketing representative, clinical liaison, apartment manager and admissions.
Chip joined Edgemere in January of 2016. He is a licensed nursing home administrator with more than 12 years of leadership and health care experience in the senior living industry. Prior to joining Edgemere, Chip worked for senior living communities in Houston, Dallas and Kansas City. He holds an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University.
Alex has been with Edgemere for nearly a decade in various roles, continuing to advance and take on new responsibilities. Before assuming his current role, Alex was responsible for leading teams in the dining venues across our community. As director of resident services, Alex oversees both housekeeping and laundry, ensuring Edgemere’s excellence shines through in every detail.
Wesley has managed some of the most popular restaurants in Dallas, giving him deep knowledge of the tastes of his patrons. He’s a great observer who understands the importance of creating an enjoyable dining experience and knows how to put ideas into action. Prior to joining Edgemere, Wesley served as the general manager at Lark on the Park, where he was responsible for hiring and training team members at this upscale restaurant. He also spent many years managing Meddlesome Moth, a popular Design District restaurant.
Victor brings comprehensive knowledge of international flavors and an innovative approach to help set the stage for a customized dining experience that takes Edgemere to the next level of service and cuisine. Prior to joining Edgemere, Victor served as executive chef for the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas. He has more than 22 years of experience in developing progressive and inventive selections for the menus of five-star hotels, as well as for resorts and restaurants in the United States, Mexico and France.
Ann brings a wealth of service and management experience to the Edgemere team. After spending three decades working at 4- and 5-star hotels, it’s clear she has a knack for hospitality and an aptitude for excellence. Ann volunteers for the Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure and other local organizations.
Mark joined Edgemere in 2005, bringing 19 years of maintenance experience to our team. In 2008, Mark was named to the Plant Operations Task Force for our parent company, Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC), leading their projects in the state of Texas. Mark puts his unique experience to work every day, striving toward continued improvement of the lifestyle our residents enjoy at Edgemere.
Debra joined the Edgemere team in 2017, bringing with her 25 years of nursing and management experience. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma, then went on to work with veterans as a geriatric charge nurse. Debra has also served as the director of nursing and as the health care director for several senior living communities in Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas. She builds strong relationships with residents and families alike, and uses her vast knowledge to care for and comfort all who call Edgemere home.
A Fort Worth native, Lauren Saloom joined the team in February 2018 as the lifestyles manager. Lauren started her career in senior living with Methodist Retirement Communities in 2011 as an intern as she worked to complete her bachelor of science in hospitality administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. During her internship, she quickly discovered her passion for working with seniors and has been serving in retirement communities across Texas. Lauren later earned a master of science degree with an emphasis in senior living. After seven-plus years in the industry, Lauren has become an advocate for seniors; motivated to change the way the world views aging.
