Luis Argote
Executive Director

A seasoned internation hospitality executive, Luis Argote joined Edgemere in 2017. Previously, Argote managed Four Seasons Hotels properties in Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica and the United States over a span of 30 years. He also held general management positions with Ritz Carlton and management positions with Westin Hotels. Argote was selected based upon his stellar performance with luxury brands in the hospitality industry, excellent leadership skills and detailed attention to serving residents and guests. Under his leadership, numerous properties received prestigious industry recognitions and awards.

In addition to operations responsibilities at Edgemere, Argote will oversee the completion of the community’s expansion, which will add more than 75,000 square feet to the community.

Vanessa Curtright Bowles
Director of Sales and Marketing

Vanessa joined Edgemere in 2011 bringing extensive experience in sales and marketing. She has held upper management positions with several major corporations, most recently with Brookdale Senior Living, the world’s largest provider of senior housing. Vanessa was awarded the Greystone Sales and Marketing Director of the Year award in both 2012 and 2015. She holds undergraduate degrees from the State University of New York and the University of London School of Economics.

Mark Blankenship
Maintenance Director

Mark joined Edgemere in 2005 as Maintenance Director, bringing to his position 19 years of maintenance experience. In late 2006, Mark was appointed chairperson of the Plant Operations Task Force for Greystone Communities, Inc. In 2008, Mark was named to the Plant Operations Task Force for Senior Quality Lifestyles Communities (SQLC) projects in the state of Texas.

Wesley Helms
Food and Beverage Director

Wesley has managed some of the most popular restaurants in Dallas. He understands the desires of his patrons. He’s a great observer and knows how to put ideas into action. With his leadership, our residents’ dining experiences will be enhanced by introducing new menu items and fun event opportunities. Prior to joining Edgemere, Helms served as the general manager at Lark on the Park. He was responsible for hiring and training the opening team members of the new high-end Dallas restaurant. He invigorated non-peak sales nights by planning and promoting specialty beer and wine dinners with craft brew masters and winemakers. Wesley Helms also spent many years managing the popular Design District restaurant, Meddlesome Moth. While there, he increased sales, was responsible for creating and updating the beverage program and was in charge of overseeing the entire restaurant operation. “I am very excited to be a part of the team at Edgemere,” said Helms. “Edgemere already has a stellar reputation, and I look forward to leading them into the next generation of dining services. I understand the importance of creating an enjoyable dining experience, and I want to make sure every time the residents or guests sit down to eat, they leave satisfied with a smile on their faces.”



Victor Jaime
Head Chef

Victor Jaime brings comprehensive knowledge of international flavors and an innovative approach to help set the stage for a customized dining experience that will take Edgemere to the next level of cuisine and service.

Prior to joining Edgemere, Jaime served as executive chef for the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas. He has more than 22 years of experience in developing progressive and inventive selections for the menus of four- and five-star hotels, as well as resorts and restaurants in the United States, Mexico and France.

“I am very excited to be a part of the team at Edgemere,” said Jaime. “I am experienced in preparing unique fare influenced by culturally diverse regions around the globe, and I look forward to bringing my own flair to Edgemere while providing the fine dining experience residents look forward to each and every day.”

Alex Gonzalez
Director of Resident Services

Alex has worked at Edgemere for eight years in various roles and has continued to advance and assume new responsibilities. Prior to his role as director of resident services, Gonzalez served as supervisor of the Edgemere dining room. In that role, he was responsible for leading the service teams in the dining rooms for both independent living and health care. As director of resident services, Gonzalez directs the housekeeping and laundry departments.

Mona De La Torre
Human Resources Director

Mona has 32 years of experience in the human resources industry, including continuing care retirement communities and the health care industry overall. Prior to joining Edgemere, De La Torre served as human resources coordinator at another area continuing care retirement community where she was responsible for human resources, payroll and employee-related functions for more than 500 employees and more than 200 private duty sitters. In her role at Edgemere, De La Torre is responsible for coordinating and managing personnel and human resources administration for the community.

Chip Brownlee
Director of Health Services

Chip Brownlee joined Edgemere in January of 2016 as Director of Health Services. He is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and brings more than 12 years leadership and health care experience in the senior living industry. Prior to joining Edgemere, he worked for senior living communities in Houston, Dallas, and Kansas City. He graduated with an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University.

Ashley Wessel
Lifestyles Director

Ashley joined Edgemere in August 2015 from Forte Group, Inc., a leading public relations, brand, marketing, and digital communications agency serving the senior living industry. For five years she worked as the account manager for Edgemere and its sister communities across Texas. Her hard work and dedication to providing the best service to her clients led her to becoming Edgemere’s Lifestyles Director. Born and raised in Kansas, she attended Kansas State University and graduated with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Leadership Studies.
